Making Pizza - The Home Made Way
The Park Primary School has been busy making its own pizza! They have built a cob oven using materials dug up from their garden and the children have all been actively involved in every stage of the building process. They have also been growing their own produce to cook on the pizzas and have a whole plot in the school garden which is dedicated to onions and garlic. During the first term of the year they also used courgettes and tomatoes that the children had grown in the allotment plots and in their plastic bottle greenhouse.
The whole school has been fully involved in this fantastic project and it has clearly been much enjoyed by all. It has also led to discussion about some very important issues such as food miles, sustainable building and organic gardening. The children now have a much clearer understanding of how we can use natural resources to build and feed ourselves, without damaging the environment. A huge well done to The Park Primary School for this amazing achievement.
