Bee Project

Greenbrae School has been working hard on an ongoing whole-school honey bee project. They have a school bee hive on a local farm and extract and sell their own honey.  It is fantastic to see the children actively involved in the whole process of honey production - from safely extracting the honey from the hives, through to packaging the honey attractively and then cooking with it.  They have clearly learned a great deal about bees and have even arranged visits with eco groups from other schools to tell them about their bee project, so inspiring others to take part in similar beekeeping projects.
