Developing Our School Grounds - The Second Year of Our Journey.

Liss Junior School's project is a fantastic Powerpoint presentation in which the children tell us about the second year of their journey in developing the school grounds.  It builds on the award winning project they entered for the Green School Awards last year.  The staff and children have been busy introducing new activities and initiatives, alongside developing and maintaining the existing ones.  The school works closely with their twinned school in Uganda, on projects that are sustainable and conserve natural resources and they use a shared blog to communicate their learning with each other.

Recent inintiatives at the school include: building a cob oven; a visit from a Ugandan teacher to share ideas; completing the bottle greenhouse; making bird boxes and willow arches; and making hanging planters for herbs.  Liss Junior School must be congratulated on the further development of their wonderful school grounds; it is lovely to see the children so actively involved in outdoor learning.
