The Green Zone at Sandown
Sandown School believes strongly that every learner should have access to outdoor learning and they have created their own outdoor space called the Green Zone. Their project gives an overview of the amazing array of environmental activities that take place in their Green Zone, including gardening and cooking. It's absolutely obvious that the children thoroughly enjoy their time in the Green Zone and the collaborative learning approach between older and younger children is fantastic to see. It is also impressive to see how much the Green Zone has been integrated into the children's learning and how they are able to meet lots of curriculum targets whilst having fun in the outdoors.
