Burlish Park’s project, entitled ‘George’s Marvellous Garden’ told the story of the creation of a small garden for the Malvern Three Counties Garden Show. The children based their design for the garden on Roald Dahl’s book, ‘George’s Marvellous Medicine’. They collected seeds from their allotment and swapped with other allotment holders to create their own ‘seed bank’. The children were involved throughout the making of the garden and the end result was a highly attractive garden with lots of creative elements.
YPTE Director, Peter Littlewood, said: “We loved this garden. It is unusual to have agarden entered into the creative category, but the children took a wonderfully imaginative and creative approach to designing and making their garden and in doing so learned a great deal about caring for a growing plants.”
